L, T or portal support: what is the difference
All three types hold information signs above the road, but they solve different tasks.
An L-type support is a single post with a cantilever. It stands at the roadside and carries the sign over the required lane. It is the most common choice for city streets.
A T-type support has two cantilevers pointing in opposite directions. It suits central reserves and shows signs for both directions. The post carries more load, so its section is larger.
A portal (gantry) support spans the whole carriageway. It is chosen for wide roads and large panels over several lanes.
Dimensions, section and foundation are calculated for the specific sign and site. Send us the drawing and we will prepare a quote.
